check-in procedure

i need to make a procedure that takes a members id number when
they type it in and press a check-in button. at any time i need
to be able to see a list of who has and hasn't checked in. it
needs to be sorted by number and they cant be able to check in
twice. can anyone help get me started? please?

I would do this by having a table in a database, accessible by all, whereby logging in entered the user, and logging out (or on exiting the program) the entry was removed. that was, you can see who is currently logged in by querying the table.
