Hello All,

I have a question. Currently I have built an excel list which creates hundreds of URLS based on the products our company sells (Deeplinks to products on our website) however I am not sure if all these links are actually valid/exist.

is there a way within this excel sheet I can check if these links are actual valid websites?

so at the end of the line I get my result:

URL: Valid?
myurl/validproduct.apsx YES
myurl/invalidproduct.aspx NO

many thanks,

Erik

Hi,

First try this process and be sure it works for you. Then turn on your macro recorder and record a part of the process, as instucted. You'll be able to then modify this macro to use on your sheet, just like a spreadsheet function.

The Process:
1. On a new sheet, Data > Import External Data > New Web Query

2. Insert one of your URLs that you know does work. [GO]

3. Select the 'area' of interest

4. When you have it [IMPORT]

5. In the Name Box on the query import sheet, select the name. This will SELECT the QueryTable range on your sheet.

6. Data > Import External Data > Edit Query

7. [IMPORT]

That's the process. The part that you want to record are steps 5 - 7.

When you finish recording, copy the VBA code and reposrt this question in forum707, for help with customizing your code.[/red]

Skip,
