I have an entry form in Access where the use adds a new record to a table, i wish that before the entry is added, to run a query on the database, to check if that entry is already added, and to return back how many entries have been added of that name, and then to tell the user with a dialog box that an entry is already present.

Thanks

you can create a form based on a duplicate query... that might help...

you can make the duplicate query from the query wizzard, in stead of making it in design view:)
