Check if another CICS region or DB2 is active on CICS/6000

Can you check if another CICS region is active under CICS/6000?
I know in OS390 CICS you can use the INQUIRE CICSSTATUS commmand, this is apparently unavailable.

Also is it possible to check if DB2 (UDB) is active using CICS/6000?
Again I know this is possible under OS390 CICS using the EXTRACT EXIT PROGRAM ('DSNCEXT1') command. Again I hear this is not available under CICS/6000.
