Check for duplicate data

Hi,
I need help on how to get Access to display a message if the data being input already exist in the database. Just to avoid duplication.

Either use a unique index to let access doing the job or take a look at the DLookUp or DCount function.

Have no idea what your database consists of or its purpose. A word of CAUTION.....

finding dups or trying to eliminate is a good idea, however, once it occurs, you should want to know why!

My experience has taught me that there is no substitute for the human thought process especially since nothing is perfect.
