cheapest way to block spam

The cheapest way is to use the Message Filter option in the IMS and enter the domains you want to block. See thread10-203769 for a massive list of known spam domains.
The downside is that you can never keep up- the list changes constantly.

another cheap way would be to change the smtp email address and only use it to send emails, not sign up for newsletters or add it to polls etc.
