Hi guys, one of my HP 4000 Switch's fan failed about 16 hours back and I wonder if I need to shut it down immediately or let it run till tomorrow morning and then fix it then? Is it OK to let it run? I mean it has been doing fine for last so many hours without a fan, thanx in advance!

Regards,

Last time I had a fan failure, HP wanted to swap out the entire chassis. It arrived the following morning, and it wasn't until about three days later that I was able to schedule enough downtime to actually replace it.

Everything ran fine until I was finally able to get the work done--but, of course, YMMV.

Thanks jkupski, actually I am still bearing with it since its only one of all 3 fans and I still have 2 working OK. I guess it will be a good idea to change it soon though, TC!
