Hi guys,

...i want to insert a chart in an access report but i don't want it to summariza the data by avg, min, max , count or anything else. I just want it to graph the individual percentages taken from table vs. the dates, also taken from the same table. Is that doable and if so how??

Thanks

Use the Chart Wizard as a starting point. When the wizard has finished and sufficiently aggregated your data, change the Row Source property to a standard select query without totals.

hi dhookom,

i am sort of new to this, so i am not sure, exactly what you mean by 'change the row source property', how do i get to the row source property?

thanks.

Find the chart control in your report design view. Select the chart control and view its properties. You will find a Row Source property which is basically a query. Use the builder button [...] to go into design view and change the query.

hey thanks A LOT! figured it out!...works perfectly!!:)

oh wait, is there any way to change the x-axis. My date query is between 8/1/07-9/1/07, however not all the dates have y-values, i only want those dates to show on the x-axis that are in the table with the respective y-values, or else the graph can be dangerously misleading. How do i do this?

You might be able to munge the date column so the chart control doesn't read them as dates. Can you come back with the SQL view of the Row Source property?
