Anyone know if the chart object can be programmed to change the color for a data series (for a single bar on the graph)?
ChartFillFormat.ForeColor changes color for ALL the bars.
Can't find anything useful in our FAQs, MSDN, MSKB, or Google.......
Need the bar to turn red if it displays a value > the previous data point.

Hi,

Based on WHAT? Some criteria in the series?

Break the series up into two or more series based on that criteria.

Plotting one data series over 12 consecutive months. One item for each month. If the previous month value is less than the one that follows it, I need to change the bar color for the higher value to red. X-axis is date (month),
y-axis is the datum.
Z-axis is me grabbing a cold beer........

[cheers]

Other than using VBA to evaluate each point, "Break the series up into two series based on that criteria." Series 2 RED.

Took awhile to sink in - thanks!! Was hoping to do it strictly in code but what this approach lacks in elegance, it makes up for in speed and ease of maintenance.

The reason I did not suggest a VBA solution is the FORUM that you posted your question in. It can be accomplished either way.
