chart using running total

Hi:
I have created a running total field.
field to summarize : is a formula field with some calculation
type of summary is sum

evaluate : for each record

reset : on territory group. ( or I don't have even have to reset, becos that is the last group)

Now I created a line chart. I used month field for the "On Change of" , then used the running total field for 'show values' ( no summarisation).

For this I had to create a month group and place the running total fields on the month group footer. Then only it shows the correct values in the chart. (month group comes before the territory group).

One problem is , the first data point in the chart always starts with 0.
So for Jan it shows 0, for Feb it shows Jan value and so on, so for Dec it shows Nov value. Why is it ? even though in the month group footer band,running total field shows the correct value.

I hope I am not confusing here.

Interesting...

Try placing the chart in the group header, does that resolve? An alternative way of approaching this woul be to add a month to the month field using a formula for the purposes of graphing.

Not purdy, but it might get you what you want.
