Chart Number Format Won't Stick

Hi all,

I have read about this somewhere but now i can't find it.

I have created a chart directly onto a form. It draws its data from a query and works fine.

However, the numbers in the data table are not formatted. If i go into the datasheet of the chart and change the format to 0,000 it looks fine in design view but reverts when I go to form view.

How do i make the changes stick?!

PS Every time I go from form view to design view I get the "locked object" message box.
