I have created a utility that is used to generate monthly reports. The user makes several selections on a form and subform and then clicks a button to preview the resulting report using DoCmd.OpenReport. Each report has a chart on it.

There is no Record Source for the report. The Row Source for the chart is based on a query.

For the most part, everything works fine. However, occassionally the report is displayed with a chart that has the default North, East, South, West bars instead of the actual data. If they close the report and re-run it it is usually displayed correctly.

Any ideas why this may be happening? TIA...

Hi, you might need to refresh the chart object. Give this a try.

In the report's Detail_format section:

dim obChart as object

set obchart = me!MyChartName.object

obChart.refresh

Hope that helps.

Thanks, I am in the process of trying it out. So far it looks like it may have worked. Thanks for the help...
