I have this chart, the data is fine but I was told by the user that it is not 'neat'.

This is due to a lot of data on the Axis. I take the Budgeted amount and compare with the expenses. But there figures are very close together and some of them are quite small.

I am not sure how to improve this.

Try setting the "Interval" on the axis

For instance if you have a set of weeks on the X axis running from 1 to 52 and set the interval to 1, it will show every week
If you set the interval to 2, it will show weeks 1,3,5 etc...

We could learn a lot from crayons. Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull. Some have weird names and all are different colours but they all live in the same box.

Geoff, I need to show all parts of the axis, because it is the product categories sales info.

I just need more spaceing between them.

I got it neater by changing the chart type, from the first of the "Columns" style, to the third one. It presents the bars not side by side but one over the other.

Side by side, would be a better visual rep. but unless there is some way to expand spaces between each pair, I will likely go with the new method.

Only real way to expand spaces would be to make the chart wider!

either that or if the issue is long text then make the chart area deeper (leaving the plot area the same size)
