Using CRXI

I have a bar chart that I want to show metrics by day (counts and $) based on a parameter. The X axis is a date and the Y is a metric. All by day. Sp far this works fine.

I want to do a secondary Y as a cumulative number. Is this possible? I have not found a solution to this.

Yes. Right click on your chart and bring up "Chart Options". Then go to the LAYOUT tab and select the dual-y option. Now the DUal-Y tab is activated and you can populate what beloongs to Y1 and Y2.

Thanks, but there is no Layout tab.

You can create a running total that does not reset and use that for your cumulative total.

I did that but they want that to show cumulative as a line graph on a secondary Y axis that I can't seem to make happen. I thought it was something that would be pretty simple to show, but it is not looking that way.

You can do dual axes. Select the chart->right click->chart options->axes->dual axes.

Yeah, I thought it should be that easy too, but it is not there.

I am using XI also, and it is there. Please recount the steps you are taking.

I have a bar chart in the report footer.
Y axis is a metric based on a parameter (either a number or dollar value)
X axis are the dates selected - Begin Date to End Date

So the output could be Dollars by Day between March 1 and April 1

I right click >> chart options >> axes >> NO dual axes

I have
(Check Box) - Show Group Axes - CHECKED

(Radio Button) - Show Time Scale
(Radio Button) - Show Ordinal Scale - Selected
(Radio Button) - Show Numeric Scale

(Check Box) - Show Data Axes - CHECKED

That is all. There is a Multi-Axes Tab there as well but grayed out so I can not select.

Mine says "Dual Axes" not Multi-Axes. Have you already added the second summary? I think you have to add that first.

That was the ticket, now I need to find out how to make the secondary axis a line graph while the main chart is a bar. Do you know if that is an option anyplace?

You just have to select one of the bars->right click->series options->selected series->line.

Yeah I found it finally. I appreciate the help!
