Hi everyone:
I have a single column data-source for a chart that spans more than one 8 by 11 page when printed. The chart appears under the data source. I want to split the data-source into multiple columns so that the data-source and chart fit on a single page.

My question is how to treat the multiple columns of data as a "Single" column of data and "one" plot. Selecting the columns with the control key and then plotting gives me a chart with 4 plots, one for each column.

Thanks in advance
Mark

Several work-arounds spring to mind. Amongst others:

(1) Stick to having the data in a single column A:A, but replicate those parts that are off the first page in further columns (e.g. put the formula =A45 in cell B1, if your page is tall enough to have 44 rows, and copy this down for a further 44 rows. Then =A90 in cell C1, etc.)
Then reposition your chart to the right of the columns, and print just the first page of the worksheet.

(2) (if the data later need to be changed by someone who isn't familiar with what you've done, this is more transparent). Do the reverse. Put the actual data in the multiple columns at the top of your worksheet, and put the formulae in the remainder of column A. Then set up the chart to use column A. Hide all rows containing just formulae so they don't appear on printing.

Good food for thought. Thank you very much lionelhill for taking the time to respond.

Have a great day!
