We have a new microsale v10 pos with the lane 3000 cc reader. We use chase as our cc processor. Upon installation of the pos, we did not have the cc reader as of yet so we used square, manually entering customer amounts as it was not connected to the pos. We had no problems. Once the cc reader was installed(and I'm not sure if this caused the problem but it coincided with it) we used it for purchases the first day but no tips were added manually thru the pos, we only took cash tips. The following day, our pos person came in and enabled the cc reader to accept tips manually added at the end of the day. Tips were added and we attempted to batch out that evening and received the message "previous batch failed" . We attempted to batch 2 more times with the same error message.
The following evening we were able to batch both the previous day as well as the current day and thought all was fine. But upon checking our deposits the following day, we had an extra 129 transactions that were deposited. These transactions which were either doubled, tripled, and in one case processed 7 times over a 3 day period, all had the same auth code assigned to each transaction. So, card 3456 should have been charged 12.30, yet it went thru more than once, with each having the same auth code.
We contacted our microsale installer(who contacted datacap and microsale)as well as chase and no one can tell us why this happened. Now we are waiting for chase to refund thousands of dollars to our customers, all the while fielding calls and handling cc disputes. Any help is greatly appreciated.
