Character Set Symbols

Could someone please tell me how to use/insert character set symbols into a CorelDraw 10 document.

I believe I use to simply use alt+0162 for the "cent" sign, or alt+0169 for the "copyright" symbol, but when I type them in nothing happens?

Have you double-checked the font you're using to make sure that it has those symbols? Not all fonts carry a full set. What font are you using?
