When I connect to an SQL database with the enterprise manager I find data like Ž?ˆŠ. The data in the application is shown correctly (for this example:éèàä). When I make Crystal Reports report the data is also shown as Ž?ˆŠ.
Does anybody if is it is possible to use some kind of character mapping to convert the data to éèàä in Crystal Reports.

Keep in mind that each character has an ASCII number assigned to it, and that different fonts show different characters, so you need to know what character set is being used in the database.

In ny case, it's probably extended ASCII, perhaps a Latin character set.

Perhaps you can copy and paste the characters into MS Word and it will preserve the font being used so that you know what they're using in the app.

Or you may be right and there's some mapping required, such as EBCDIC, but that's unlikely in a SQL Server database.
