character limit on shellexecute call?

I'm trying to use shellexecute to auto-send an email, and while it works for one particular message, it doesn't for another.

Is there a character limit when using shellexecute? The number of characters in email i need to send is around 248.

There is a limit and it is around 250 char. I want to say that it is 255 but I think I've seen the issue with strings that should have been below 255.
