Hi,

I have a character expression in a .dbf that was given to me that contains $ signs and commas.

Example: $885.20000 or $1,017.76000 or $11,345.75000. I need to convert them to numeric value.

I know it's a simple thing but my brain is on neutral today. Can somebody please help with this simple transform.

Many Thanks,
FOXUP!

Hi All,

OK, nevermind, my brain started working again....LOL.... I found it. Thanks nonetheless. I'm gonna use the "CHRTRAN" command.

Thanks everybody,
FoXUP!

Is that perhaps a currency field? This can be displayed this way in a browse, but already is a numeric value, then. A special type of numeric, of course, currency, but a numeric.

If that's the case you can check MTON(field).

Bye, Olaf.

Nah, according to the stru, it's actually a character field. Thank You Olaf. :)
