Character counter for form text boxes

Hi

I have put together an online questionnaire using radio buttons and text areas for comments after each question. The text boxes are limited by the database (MS Access) to 255 characters.

Is it possible to add a character counter on the page to display how many characters have been used or are remaining so that users do not enter more than the allowed 255 ?
