Due to some tech reasons or capacity issues a T1/E1 connection to PSTN is not the best solution.

We have an AS5350 Cisco Router for IP Call which have an PRI interface to PSTN but need also some analog PSTN line connections to our AS5350.

Is a channel bank an idea solution to connect analog PSTN lines to our router, or a PBX-type solution is the best?

I need your advice
Thank to all in advance

Channel bank would give you the analog connection. I'm not sure as to why you want to go analog though, to get that amount of analog ports would cost you way more in hardware than a digital solution would.. Analog is just an expensive solutions....

inform us more as to why T1/PRI isn't a solution?

On a site National PTT is not able to give digital lines due to capacity problems on their network. This is the main reason of Channel Bank usage.

On the other hand we have traffic to GSM too. GSM call shall be routed to FCTs for aerial propagation, much cheaper. I shall use Cisco AS5350 Universal Access Server and this device has E1/PRI digital output, is it possible to add it a FXO or any card which may separe the channels and gives the analog output for GSM FCT and analog PSTN lines in the same time.

Paradyne makes a unit that will take 24 FXO's and shoot them out as a T1-CAS, which is perfect as on the AS5300 you can assign individual dial-peers per port to ensure correct call processing etc. I've seem them on ebay for around $700.

Not sure of the exact part, but if you goto paradynes site, and under Channel banks, search for FXO and T1. something should pop up, otherwise let me know and I can go get the part number off of the ones I have in the field.
