changover advice ; asp to php or coldfusion

I need some expert advice. We were using asp on our websites through M$ iis on w2k. We are in the process of switching over to linux.

what is better..php or coldfusion considering we used to use asp?

If i understand correctly, coldfusion is not a free product like php?

ColdFusion is not a free product, though it is very good and available for Linux with Apache. It'll run you somewhere between $1000 and $1200.

I'd recommend going with PHP. You might find PHP more familiar, as it is more of a procedureal language (like ASP) than ColfFusion. Want the best answers? Ask the best questions:

You may be able to convert most of your asp pages to php with a program called asp2php. I'm not quite sure where I saw it but I'm pretty sure it was at

http://www.tucows.com

then do a search for it once you get there.
