Changinh Solaris 9 hostname

I must be stoopid, but Ive just installed solaris 9 X86 about 10 times using webstart & I couldnt see anywhere where to add a hostname during the network part of the install, so now the machines name is unknown (no thats what the hostname is ;-) ). I managed to change from unknown to somthing else in SMC but it must have only partially changed it because the next time i ran SMC it failed saying it couldn't connect to the new hostname.

any help would be great
