I need to change the zone of each member of my virtual trunks for each of my branch sites. I was given instructions by a Nortel tech to go to ld 14, chg, type tie, put in the TN, and change the zone. But when I get to TN and I put it in, 81 00, I get an error. The virtual trunks are 81 0 00 00 thru 81 0 00 29. I've tried almost every combination but I can't get it to take the TN. What's the proper way to put the TN in? Please help. The error I get for putting in 81 00 is "station type conflicts with existing card." Thanks.

Matt

Depending the type of PBX, the 2 ways to enter a TN are:
81 00 or
81 0 00 00

Nothing else.I guess the TN entered is not the right one. Which error message are you receiving?
What is the exact type of your PBX?

go to ld 20 and do a PRT on the TN to find out the trunk type. The error message youare getting is referring to the type you entered "TIE" must be wrong.

Apparently, you cannot do a change on a trunk member and you must out it and rebuild it. It also looks as if when you change the zone of the route with these members in it, it also changes the zone for each member. Nortel tells me, the ideal way to make this change is to first out all the virtual trunks, change the zone for the route, and then rebuild the trunk members.
