I'm running a Windows 2000 network with Exchange 5.5, which clients access through Outlook 2000. Win2K server and Exchange are connected through the Active Directory Connector. I originally had my Win2K client accounts set up with a fixed password that they couldn't change, but for security reasons I'm changing that so that everyone has to change their passwords at next login, and every 6 weeks thereafter.
Expecting problems, I tested this with one client. She was able to log onto the Win2K network and open her mailbox, but then complained that she couldn't send email. The Event Viewer error told me that she didn't have a valid X.400 account. When I looked at her Exchange account, all her email addresses (MS, SMTP, X400) had been deleted when she logged in under her new password! Her mailbox is still there, it just doesn't have any email addresses associated with it.
Anyone know how this could happen? What can I do to fix it?
Thanks!
