Win98 IE6.0- I recently installed a new 40G hard drive in my home computer. I have another smaller physical hard drive installed on the same computer, with all my old files stored on it. Both physical hard drives are designated "system".When I installed 98 on the new hard drive, it installed IE5.0 on it, and I had to upgrade to UE6.0.
I noticed that the system was not remembering any logons or passwords, so I poked around a little bit and discovered that temporary internet files are being stored in Win>LocalSettings>Temp Internet Files, instead of Win>Temp Internet Files. I have not been able to get them to show up in the correct place. Has anyone encountered this before?
Thanks,
Daniel

Navigate to the following registry key:

Open your registry editor and navigate to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \ User Shell Folders

In the right-pane, double-click the value named Cache and set it's data to the new TIF folder (E:\Temporary Internet Files)

Similarly, make the changes in this registry key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \ Shell Folders

Close Registry Editor and log off. Login back for the changes to take effect.
