Changing vbs files to original filetype

I apologize for the ignorance of this message in advance...

I recently download somthing, perhaps a *.vbs file, and it changed all of my picture files to *.vbs files. For example, coleparty.jpg became coleparty.jpg.vbs. How do I recover these files? Thanks!

You have got a variant of VBS.LoveLetter worm. Check out symantec site for instance:

There are more than 80 variants. Core part for the removal is the same in reasoning. The details may vary according to the specific variant you get.
