Changing variable remotely

I have a script that can take different routes based on variable D. Is there a way to change Variable D remotely. Basically the script routes calls to an offsite person but if that person has to leave or get sick she needs to call the system and make variable d change. Anyone know how to do this?
 
When I say remotely I mean by calling in and leaving a voicemail etc, these remote agents do not have access to program the system. I am looking into remote agents but I need and interim solution. Another option would be to time out the call transfer. If the call is not answered within X amount of time reroute to another number. I just need to know what commands or steps it would take ot accomplish this.
 
Make a workflow that uses the Data Repo.
Whenever a call comes in it kicks the workflow the workflow looks up the value of Var D. Then returns the value.
Have a special number set where user calls up and hits another workflow that updates the Data Repo where Var D is set.

Can you give more detail? I am new to Aspect. Along the same line if I transfer a call out of the Aspect can I setup a timeout for no answer that would pull the call back and transfer it to another number? If so what are the steps to accomplish this?
 
OK if you are new then you are asking for some pretty complex routing for a newbie to be playing with :) No offence.
To answer your questions I have some questions
Do you have Contact Server in place? If so what version?
What ACD Version do you have?
Do you have the WorkFlow or eFlow admin installed on the Contact Server?
Do you have an Answer Detect Card in your system?
 
ok I was chatting with MobiusK about this and I may have misunderstood what you are wanting. Are you looking for variable call forwarding, where the user can designate a new number to route the calls to or static (If condition is met send to number xxx-xxx-xxxx else send to number xxx-xxx-xxxx)?

Still the above questions are important cause the way I described before is the most scalable solution
 
I am new to Aspect but i have worked on other ACD platforms for years.
 
Tell me where I would find all this info. I dont want to give you any wrong info. I know it is at version 8.
