Changing value in user.Identity.Name

Good Morning All,

I am creating a web portal for our customers. In this portal, I would like to the users to be able to change there user name.

I am using user data from a SQL Server database.

As far as the database that stores the user information, I have this functionality working. However, if they change their username, I need to change the user.Identity.Name property which appears to be read only.

Is there a way of changing this value with out forcing a log off and log in?
