Changing users display name in exchange

Hi all,
I need to change a user name in exchange. We have a new principal at the school and whoever set up the previous principal email made it hername<principal@theschool.edu.au so when she sent mail that's what the receiver see's when it arrives. I want to change this to principal<principal@theschool.edu.au>, mainly because the present guy is only going to be there for 6 months then there will be a new person in place. At the moment the logon user name is Principal it just shows the old principal name when he sends mail.
Is this just a matter of going into AD and renaming the account? or is there more i need to do

So, to clarify, you're not talking about changing the actual SMTP address, just the 'friendly name' bit that gets added before the SMTP address?

It is the Display Name (AD U&C General tab) that is added to the SMTP address when email is sent outside the Exchange Organization. Note this is the same Display Name that is used for the internal GAL.

yes at the moment when the new Temp principal send mail it looks like it came from the old principal.
The present E-mail address is staying the same it's fine i want to change the name.
presently When mail is sent it arrives as Janelle.t<principal@theschool.edu.au> ( Janelle being the old principal)
Need to change this to read Principal<principal@theschool.edu.au>
That way it doesn't matter who sits in the chair, the mail will be from the principal.
the login account is staying the same, the email address is staying the same, just need to change the display name of that account.
