Changing user password

For some reason, over the past week, when we setup new users,Unix will not allow us to set a password for the users. Cannot set a blank password and change later. Any ideas
 
If this seems to be a discrepancy with scoadmin, then try running the "sco cocktail" which you should be able to search for on the sco web pg, technical article section. This is for resolving os level corruption. Or you might want to pull up a known-good-recent user acct via the scoadmin utility, take notes/run multiple virtual sessions and compare to your defaults when trying to add new users...maybe a default has changed?
