changing user name after registration

I installed the OS and spelled a friends name wrong when registering and can't seem to fix it. I edited the registry like it said on the microsoft site, but the mispelled name still shows up in programs like excel and word. Has anyone encountered this problem before and know of a fix? Thanks

Excel and Word are separate applications and not coverd by windows they are Office Applications and the registerd name is accepted once on a new pc from the installed name of the PC.
Once that is done i dont think you can change it

"Each program that is installed by the Windows Installer (MSI) can have a registered company and a registered owner associated with it.

Some programs use this registered company and owner by displaying it inside the "About" box of the program. An example of this procedure is Office XP and upwards.

This list shows you all installed programs on your computer that have been installed by MSI. Beside the name of it, it displays you the registered company and owner. Use the buttons to change the company, the owner or both to whatever you wish.

If some products do not have a company or owner, this is not a failure. Some programs simply do not make any use of this information.
