Changing to access ACCPAC company without ODBC?

We are looking at setting up so that we don't have to use odbc connections with ACCPAC. The problem that I am seeing is with Crystal and whether we will be able to run reports that are not data pipe reports. Wondering how we will be able to create new reports or modify the reports already there. We are using ACCPAC ERP 5.4 in all modules with Sql and Crystal 11.

You always have to use ODBC connection with the New Accpac v5.4, no working around that.

Or actually i could be wrong you could use the Native driver??? I havent worked for Accpac too long but I've asked around and ODBC is the only way to go. *shrug*

If you are running SQL2005 AND you are running Accpac 5.4 then you can use the new SQL Native Driver. Accpac 5.4 uses this driver by default, *if it is installed*, when the DSN is created on the workstation or server.
