I'm trying to figure out how to change the "From" line that appears in an email message when it is sent from AIX. Say the users name is "bob" and when he sends mail it shows from "bob@domain.com". I want it to say in the from line "accts_payable@domain.com". Is there a way to do this? I want it so that when someone clicks reply it will go to "accts_payable@domain.com" instead of to "bob@domain.com". I'm sure it can be done on the email server to forward it to the accts_payble address but I don't want to do it that way.

Thanks.

Eric

Eric,

Use the /usr/lib/sendmail program directly and add the lines shown here into your file followed by a blankline. For example...

Subject: test message
Reply-To: father.christmas@north.pole
From: righthandknome@north.pole

Message goes here...
