Changing the name of a managed node

Hi all

When I change a managed node name on NNM eg a router,the node gets updated,when demand poll is used, but when you check the interfaces properties i.e selection name of interfaces in that router it still refers to the old node name.What can cause that and how can it be solved without deleting and re-discovering the node or starting to update the interfaces one by one..
