Hi all

I have to reconfigure a platform that builds database applications (the platform steps over the existing RDBMS) from English to Japanese. How do I start ???

I have herd of DoubleBit structure, but I dont know if that concerns me. I know that Oracle sell some add-on so the DMS can work in Japanese.

Do you guys know where to start ???

thanks in advance

The 'DoubleByte' structure is essentialy a character set that uses two bytes to represent a character. This is because if you use kanji characters the reference number is higher than the normal ascii range.

This may not seem too problematic, but some software won't display double-byte data and hence won't handle Japanese data.

I can't remember the specifics for the different dbms's, but I know that we have used Oracle and SQL Server 7.0.

<a href= home
