I've been asked if the following is possible...

Scenario:

ClientA sends a mail to CompanyA. CompanyA doesn't handle the email themselves but forwards it to CompanyB who deals with the query.

An agent, employee1@companyb.com, picks up the email and writes a reply. The mail then is sent back to CompanyA before being forwarded to ClientA.

Is there a way to make sure ClientA receives an email (written by employee1@companyb.com) that comes as if written by employee1@companyA.com??

Thanks

Thanks Zelandakh for the prompt reply. Do you know what I would need to run to get this sort of functionality set up?

Employee1 at company b would need a mailbox on company A's server and the ability to send from that mailbox.

I'm Certifiable, not cert-ified.
It just means my answers are from experience, not a book.

Actually I take that back. There sort of is a way but only under certain circumstances.

If you only ever send emails to that client under this circumstance and want all emails to appear to come from another company, you could create a connector on companyb.com for sending to "client" (if it is a single domain) with a masquerade domain of companya.com.

Obviously when the client replies, the email will go to companya.com so there will need to be a live email address for employee1.

Hope that makes sense.
