Changing the default folder for the "Find" program 3

Looking for advise on how to change the default folder that shows up in Windows' "Find" program. This is the program that enables you to search your drives for content or file name. It starts in the c:\Windows\Start Menu folder. I need to search on a specific drive everytime and need to browse to it. Any suggestions? I suspect that if I could make a shortcut for it, Perhpas permitting me to change the switches similar to establishing Windows Explorer's default. Problem is, I can't find where it comes from. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you for your reply. Yes, the Find program does remember the last place I looked, provided I launch from the Start Menu => Find. However when windows shuts down (by design or by crash), it resets itself to the "Start Menu" path. Additionally, right clicking the START button to get to Find will reset it back to "Start Menu". Just looking to save a few strokes.

I must be missing something, here. I just click Start, Find, Files or Folders, and select where I want to search under "Look in". I know of no other way to do it. In Windows ME they changed "Find" to "Search". That drove me crazy. "A little knowledge is a dangerous thing....."

Wow, you are right cursillo!
I've used the right click on Start button to access the Find tool many times before, and never understood why it pointed to that path. I didn't realize that it actually resets the Find tool that way!

Ok, I forgot about using "Find" that way. I right click the Start to access Explorer, but seldom use it for Find. I learned something, also. Right clicking for Explorer puts you into the start menu for explorer, so I guess it makes sense that it does it for "Find", too. Go figure.... "A little knowledge is a dangerous thing....."

Haven't found any way to permanently set this, but I was so captivated with this that I've been testing other aspects of the Find tool.
I've found that when I shut down normally and reboot, my Find tool DOES retain my last searched drive. You are sure about your normal shutdowns not doing this, cursillo?
Also, using the keyboard shortcut (Windows key + F) retains the last viewed drive as well.

Another handy shortcut: When using Windows Explorer browsing various drives and folders, you can right click on a drive or folder, select "Find" (or "Search&quot and Find will open with the drive or folder you have selected in Windows Explorer as the default.
