changing the current period through DDE

I have been using DDE to get data from Peachtree. I have found that if I want to get data from peachtree for a particular period I have to change the period manually through their graphical user inverface. Is there any way programmatically (through DDE) that i can change the period?

I am trying to write a report that lists the open items on PO and I am trying identrify what field specifies whether a po is open or closed. TIA TOM
