I noticed that at the product level I can specify the quantity decimal and the currency decimal. Can I modify the number of decimal every where? When I have unit price of .0005 the unit price and a quantity of 1 (I would like to see that on the sales transaction entry screen. as the unit price and then extended over to the extended price. I would also like to see the decimal carried through to the distributions screen. Is that possible?

Utilities > Inventory > Change decimal places

Thanks!

You can change the decimal places that will be used for the unit cost, as per Barb's post, but I think the only way you can see more decimal places for the GL distributions and extended price is if you change the setup of the currency involved, which is not something I would recommend since this would be global to the entire system and would show this way on every screen and every report.

Just as a side note - if you do decide to play with changing the decimal places for the currency - don't do it on your live system (at least without a full backup) - while you can increase the decimal places, there is no way to decrease them without manually altering tables.

also... all reports including cheque's will print out with as many decimal places as you go to.

vick400,
In my test environment I modified the my currency to now use 5 decimal places. The problem I am having now is that I don't know how this currency Id get associated with everything. I haven't found a place where I tell it what currencyId to use. Where do I find that?

Thanks,

Are you registered for Multicurrency? Also, are you using the sample company or a copy of your own database?

No, we are not registered for multicurrency. I am using a copy of our actual database.

If you're not using multicurrency, there should only be one currency that's possible - are you not seeing the additional decimal places? If so, where did you go to increase them?

I can see the additional decimal places in the currency setup window (example), but I don't see it any place else.

You've tried entering a transaciton and it doesn't show the additional decimal places?

Yep, I changed the currency decimal places in the currency setup. But at the extended price and the distributions are still at 2 decimal points.

What happens if you enter a payables transaction? (I just want to make sure the currency change actually took.)
