Is there a way to change the color of the cross-hair in PS6? I do a lot of work with black backgrounds and the cross-hair also is black so it's difficult to see it as it blends in.

Any suggestions?

I was able to import a different cursor to fix this problem in Dreamweaver, but I can't seem to fix it in Photoshop. I selected a new cursor for the cross-hair setting in the control panel but that particular cursor doesn't seem to show up in Photoshop for some reason... I just get the normal black cross-hair.

Thanks for the suggestion viol8tion... worked great in DW, but not in PS for some reason.

I guess PS uses it's own cursor to override the Windows settings, which is a good idea if it is flexible... have you tried playing with the preferences? I know that you can change from crosshair to brush, etc.... When in doubt, deny all terms and defnitions.

You could get Resource Hacker, open up the Photoshop.exe file, then say replace cursor, select the cursor that comes with photoshop and replace it with whatever .cur you want. The resource hacker program will re-compile photoshop and the new cursor will be used. It will also rename the original file, in case you want to use the old cursor again.

You can use resource hacker to change the bitmaps, cursours, the main icon, etc. Great program.
