Changing the color of part of an image on click

Hi,

I am designing a program for a sports clothing distributer. Here is what I need to do...if its possible??

I have an image of a baseball/hockey jersey...on the click of a button I need to be able to change 'parts' of that image. For example change the collar to red or change the stripes on the sleeves to a different color.

Is there a way to do this without switching the actual image only change portions of the image.

Any ideas??
