I have a two-node MSCS setup. When I created the clustered I used wesql01 as the cluster name. Well the DBA wanted to use the same name for his SQL instance. So I changed the cluster name to wecluster01. When the DBA went to install SQL it said the name was already in use. I was able to ping the old name and the new. When I turn off the clustered servers the name goes away. So the cluster is still broadcastings the old cluster name. Is there a clean way to stop this or do I need to remove the name from the registry?
