Is it possible to change the properties of a text box on a report based on the value of the text box? I'd like to have a text box that changes it's back color based on the value displayed in the text box.

I know how to do this on a form, but I can't find a way to make it work on a report.

FYI: for Crystal Reports 9.

thanks

Where is the value coming from? A database field?

How is this text box being populated?

Text boxes are designed for entering text in, it does not have a value that can be passed or evaluated.

Use a Formula instead of a text box, or place a formula inside the text box and base the color on it.

Well, I figured it out, apparently I was looking in the formula editor to create a conditional statement for it, however if you click on the field (from the database) and right click, you will see something called "Highlighing Expert..." and from there, it's pretty straight forward, but thanks for such QUICK response.

Right click on a field which is a text box from the database to use a highlighting expert...

None of that makes sense, you're mixing unrelated technical terms.

Glad that it worked out, but next time please try to use technical terms appropriately and post how you resolved, the intent of forums is to assist others.
