I would like to change the Telnet Type in my SUN box.
I currently have Solaris 10 installed using SSH.
I would like to change it to regular telnet.
What files do I have to modify in order for the change to take effect.

Thank you for looking at my post...

Alexander

The file to change is /etc/inetd.conf. The standard entry is:

telnet stream tcp nowait root /usr/sbin/tcpd in.telnetd

You file should have this entry commented out with a # character at the beginning of the entry or modified to use ssh. If your entry is commented out, remove the # character and comment out the telnet entry using ssh. If your entry is modified to use ssh, comment out that entry and add the standard entry.

As this is Solaris10 I believe you will have to enable the telnet service with
svcadm enable svc:/network/telnet:default

Not sure if inetd.conf carries the telnet service in Sol10.

Thank you all for your response. . .
I could not find the line that bfitzmai mention for the /etc/inetd.conf

The command that anotherAlan mention did work. . .

This is what I did.

svcadm enable telnet

You can see that it is active by issue this command:
svcs -a |grep telnet
