I have modified an existing subreport and then saved it with a new name using "save as". I then insert the new subreport into the main report. However, the subreport name as it appears in the main report layout, contains the name of the original (old) subreport.

How can I change this so that the name of my new subreport appears. This causes a problem during printing because it does not recognize the name of the new subreport that I am trying to use.

Hello Mary,
This has been a known issue since version 6 or 7 at least. Even if you save the subreport outside the main report, rename it, and reinsert it.. it will usually keep it's original name.. worse yet is that it will sometimes have the properties revert.. I have encountered this issue more times than i can count. The only workaround I've come up with is creating the subreport outside of the main report, then storing that report away and if i need to make changes, i will delete the subreport out of the main report, make the appropriate changes to the standalone subreport, and then insert into the main report again. This is the same info by the way that Crystal gives as well :(
