Hi All,
I have a one frame scene with a movie clip in it and a stop(); command so the movie clip in its entirety. At the end of the movie clip I have a "goToAndPlay('Scene 2', 1)".

I would expect this to go to the next scene and play it. Instead, it seems that the action is ignored, and the movie clip just loops in the first scene.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks!

You can't target scene names from within movie clips and/or from external movies loaded on other levels. You must use frame labels.
Thus label the first frame of your Scene 2 with an unique label such as start2 (or whatever suits you - but no number only labels or at least not starting off with a number), add _root (from movie clips) or _level0 (from external movies loaded on other levels) to your path, and target the labeled frame...

Also watch your synxtax...

stop();
_root.gotoAndPlay("start2");

Works wonders!
