Is there a way to change the default 5023 TCP port used on the S8300/G350 for access to the Communication Manager software. I have looked at the Web page under Security > Firewall > Advanced, and don't see where I can enter a port not listed.

This would require a change on the definity telnet daemon itself, and would need special access to be able to change the code...

if you want to to your system with asa you could do a change ip-services, to administer and enable another port for this activity. the port 5023 if fixed to the mediaservers.

I have setup the ip-services service type: sat, local node: procr, local port: 5111, remote node: any, remote port: 0. And then enabled the service but to no avail.

if you can ping to the clan and there is no other problem like a firewall or something, enabling the ip-services with specific port must do it!!! Be aware of the fact that if you go straightly through the mediaserver you will access it by its own ip adrress and if you do it via the ip-services you access the system via the clan board..

I don't think you can have a SAT session on a CLAN board with the new media servers..

Can anyone confirm this?? As far as I know, its 'no'

tshirley04 will be upset about this!! Shirley I do not jest!!!!

You can not have a sat service run on any port but 5023 on an S8300. If the only local node selection avaliable is procr then it can not be done. I believe this is the "official" response from Avaya but it is obviously their call. If you have a c-lan as a possible local node then no problem. As Buckweet mentions if you have root access it can be done. So the "official" response assumes that you do not have this access. Non standard (if ya know what I mean!!)
