the enable password has been changed and we cannot doa password recovery. We know the SNMP read/write. Is there a way of changing the enable password on the router using ciscoworks2000

The only way you would be able to change it if it had the original password defined in Ciscoworks . Ciscoworks uses the telnet passwords to get into the routers and switches . I believe you can change the passwords if you have the snmp read-write strings but I myself haven't done it , otherwise manual recovery thru the console is the only other option .
